Mrs. Shawky,
On Saturday, we attended the Canterbury gala. I had numerous conversations with Colton's teachers and am so proud of him. The teachers have nothing but positive comments. He is polite, respectful, prepared, smart and the list goes on. As Greg and I were talking about how Colton has matured and has become the young man we are so proud of, we couldn't help to mention you and Erik. We give much of the credit to the two of you for the life skills you have taught Colton through Tae Kwon Do. I think "we" have done a wonderful job raising him. Thank you for all you do for Colton and the blessings you and Erik have provided to our family. We love you!
Thank you,
Janey Hood

When my son was five years old I explained to him the meaning of commitment. I told him he could participate in any sport he wanted but to choose one that he would commit to throughout his youth. After many questions Sammy knew what he wanted to do and he chose karate. I knew of a karate dojo down the street so we went however something didn't feel right they wanted me to sign a contract and they guaranteed Sammy would be a black belt in three years. I thought to myself what happens if he's not ready in three years? I felt to get a clear picture of quality schools we would attend a tournament. I registered my son for an A.O.K. tournament and went with a purpose. The first place I looked was at the Dojo instructors who were competing and one school stood out Dale & Kristi's. I introduced my self to Kristi Shawky and after a few minutes of conversation I could tell she wasn't just out to make a buck but her heart was to help children achieve their full potential not only in Karate but also in life. Sammy loved training. The first year he placed 3rd in state. Kristi is a great instructor with just the right balance of compassion and discipline. At Dale & Kristi students have to work for their rank they aren't just given a pass.
Here it is seven years later Sammy is a black belt and consistently a top competitor for his age in the state of Texas. I am so proud of what Sammy has accomplished and what roll karate has played in grooming him to be a wonderful young man, and more important Sammy is so proud of honoring his commitment and persevering to accomplish and test his heart to become a black belt. I am so thankful that I chose Dale and Kristi's Karate for my son with instructors like Texas state champion and Golden Greek winner Master Kristi Shawky, with multiple state and grand championships Grand Master William Shelton, state champion Erik Wiedeman I know that these instructors have blessed my son the best training and have been great examples of integrity.
Sincerely
Bill Mullens
